The following work by the contractor is planned for this week (which could change based on construction progress/weather):

  1. Utility and road work on Main Street at Hoover Avenue intersection.
  2. Utility and road work on Hill Street between Brown Street and Fifth Avenue and on Greene Street between Davis Street and Hill Street.
  3. Additional restoration work on sidewalks along Hoover between Greene and State.

There are no anticipated water service shutdowns scheduled this week. We do want to reiterate the orange door hanger message recommending that you run the cold water faucets for several minutes to clear the water after each shutdown.

The Hill Street (between Brown and Fifth), Greene Street (between Hill and Hoover), and Fifth Avenue (at Hill) closures remain in effect. The suggested detour route is Madison to Main, to Keech, to Greene, to Hoover, to Division.

As previously published by the City, work at the Hoover Avenue and Main Street intersection will begin on Monday morning, October 7th and last through Sunday, October 13th (5 PM). The two northbound lanes and the easternmost southbound lane on South Main Street will be closed for work associated with the water main upgrades. One lane of southbound traffic will be maintained on South Main Street. For northbound truck traffic on South Main Street, a detour is in place to route traffic on Stadium to Packard, to Main Street. For other northbound traffic on South Main Street, a detour is in place to route traffic on Pauline to Seventh, to Madison, to Main Street. For traffic on Hoover Avenue, since the Main Street intersection is closed, a detour is in place to route traffic on Hoover to Greene, to Keech, to Main Street.
