City contractor JV Contracting is scheduled to begin applying pavement markings throughout the City starting Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Due to the traffic volumes during the day, the work will be done during the overnight hours. This work will not require road closures, however some lanes may be closed while the paint dries. Please proceed carefully through work zones.
Outdoor Warning Siren Test Notification
Washtenaw County’s 81 warning sirens (including those in the City of Dexter) will be tested this Saturday (October 5) at noon. If there is a threat of severe weather on the day of a test, it will be cancelled.
Property taxes are due on September 15, 2019. Due to the 15th falling on a Sunday, payments will be accepted until 5 pm on Monday, September 16, 2019 without penalty. Payments must be received at the City Office by 5 pm, postmarks are not accepted.
To ensure receipt by Monday, September 16, 2019 at 5 pm payments can be dropped off to the City Office (8123 Main) between 9 am and 5 pm or placed into the drop box near the door to the Sheriff’s Office (8140 Main). If you have not mailed your payment yet, we strongly suggest dropping it off due to the time it can take for the mail to be processed and delivered by the post office.
