Parents looking to place their children in Dexter Community Schools for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year have until the end of the day Wednesday August 13 to submit their application.
The second enrollment period for the year began on July 31. This will be the final chance to place students in Dexter schools until next year’s first enrollment application period early in the year.
“The Dexter Community Schools district is a limited schools of choice district,” district officials said in a statement on their website. “This means that we have two, two-week application windows during which families can apply to attend as school of choice students for the following fall.
“Each year, we look at our current enrollment and estimate the number of students we can accept for schools of choice slots.”
The application and detailed requirements are on the Schools of Choice page.
Signed applications can be submitted via email, fax, hand delivery, or regular post, as long as it arrives within the application window.
Parents of current Dexter Community Schools students who have moved out of the district don’t need to attach a transcript or report card with their application.
Responses will be issued and received by August 19.
